Silver moments – Ebro, incarnate border

Based on the three basic concepts of language, border and community, the project Abans el llenguatge / Antes del lenguaje* (Before Language) was deployed in three areas: an exhibition space at Lo Pati, delocalized actions that were developed jointly with the Pere Mata Terres del Ebro Foundation and ESARDI - School of Art and Design of Amposta and a collaboration with the publishing house La Caníbal.
 
Within this project and within the exhibition space Ebro, embodied border addresses the moment of the end of the Spanish Civil War, where the Ebro River became a border between the opposing sides. A game that puts the two opponents on equal terms, shows us the manipulation of the historical narrative, where in reality an armed coup d'état put its citizens on a war footing to defend their democratic state.
 
Created during Ancarola's stays at the Baladre artists' residence in the Balada nucleus (in the Ebro Delta) managed by Lo Pati.
